Hi! My name is Olivia. I’ve had Visual Snow since I was born and started describing it when I was three years old — I called it “the fuzzies.” My parents thought it was just my imagination.
One day, I described it as “old TV static from the ’80s,” so we decided to Google it. That’s when we discovered Visual Snow Syndrome. Before that, I thought everyone saw it. Once we realized what it was, we went to our local paediatrician, who eventually diagnosed me with VSS. We also found a great counsellor who helped me manage my anxiety. However, I don’t have anyone nearby who truly understands, and I’m still learning how to manage my other symptoms.
A bit more about me: I love red bell peppers, adore The Big Bang Theory, and I’m very creative. I always keep things organized, and I really like maths (I’m a huge nerd!). My idol is Sierra Domb. One day, I hope to become the First Minister of Scotland and focus on helping the people of Scotland and their concerns. I don’t usually like talking about my VSS, but if people have questions, I’m happy to answer them.
Remember you are never alone!
